99 sensor & stock configuration.
Mine is Red/Orange, too. I was curious to check, myself.
Mine looks the same as Sixer's- I faded red to orange.
my 01 is red/orange
Okay, thanks guys. The only commonality I have found so far is the angle of the sensor, maybe over torqued? Can anyone read the part numbers on the switch?
Looks like the last five numbers are 83083.
Mine is more at the 2 o'clock postion where Sixer's is at 11
Yeah, all of the 2000's that I've seen so far are at 2:00, including mine. May not mean a thing.Originally Posted by 99WhiteBeast
Got my recall letter last week, went to Nichols and a service writer pulled it and taped it off. Put me on the call list for repairs, probably sometime in April. I have never used my cruise anyway that I remember.
I got the letter for my sold 2000 the other day
Wow! Looks like this '00 L wasn't so lucky with the cruise-control defect.
Evidently, the owner said he parked it around midnight and found it approx. 7 hrs. later - he said it burned the block, etc. so badly, he could actually see the cams.
That just hurts me to look!

There is a x-cab F-150 @ Nichols in FW that did the same thing. Caught fire while just sitting. Not quite that much damage but its probably a total since the front end is half gone.Plus I'm sure its value is less than that L's.
_whew_ thank goodness I'm not on that list!! But it kills me that someone misdesigned the circuit to the point where it is energized while the vehicle is off...
Got mine fixed @ Nichols Ford last Thursday. Anyone else?
