    Time for another feel up

Well, running to the meeting tonight kicked the low fuel light on. I drove past a dozen stations trying to find a pump under 4.69... Flying J is back down to 4.47 yeah I don't even want to fill up anymore. I may go back to buying 50 or 100 bucks worth at a time. I hate the idea of spending hard earned savings of a more fuel efficient beater I don't want to start with. I am thinking of paying off he F250 so all I have is the fuel bill. Maybe then it would seem cheaper if all I had to do was spend 4-500 a month on fuel...

The pump shut off at 200 bucks today 41 gallons. So it is prolly a 210-215 dollar fill up now. I am going to start looking for a crap car...

HOLY CHIT!! I dont think my tanks that big... I usually do $100 at a time every 10-14 days. Some weeks I drive less and it gets a full tank... THAT HURTS THE $$$$ FLOW!!

I looked at that site last night and drove by a few today. The ones that sound too good to be true are. Nobody north of I-635 is below 4.69. The cheapest truck stop on I 20 is 4.47... It isn't worth the trip across town to save 4-5 bucks a fill up.

saw an ad last night for Dodge, they are giving away gas and diesel for $2.99 for 3 years if you buy or lease a new Dodge

They just keep making it harder and harder to hate Dodge

    From their website:

    http://www.dodge.com/en/refuel/

    INTRODUCING THE NEW $2.99 GUARANTEE.

As fuel prices continue to rise, the Let's Refuel America Program helps providing stability to the cost of fuel with a simple solution - locking in the price of unleaded or diesel fuel at $2.99/gallon for three years.
Program participants use a special card linked to their MasterCard or Visa credit card account. The card may be used to purchase enough fuel at $2.99 per gallon to travel up to 12,000 miles per year in each of the next 3 years. So no matter what the price at the pump says, you'll never have to pay more than $2.99 per gallon for qualifying fuel.
To qualify, you must purchase or lease an eligible Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep® vehicle from May 7 through July 7, 2008 and have a valid MasterCard or Visa credit card.
These are challenging times. Fortunately, the Let's Refuel America Program is doing what it can to help.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Buy or lease a qualifying 2008 or 2009 Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep® vehicle.
    2. Select the MasterCard or Visa credit card to use for the program.
    3. Receive a Let's Refuel America card that you will use to buy gas.* Each year for the next three years, you will receive an allocation of gallons to use.
    4. Fill up. In each of the next 3 years, when buying fuel with that card, your credit card will never be charged more than $2.99/gallon for qualifying puchases – regardless of the price at the pump.
    5. It's our way of helping to refuel America.
Your Let's Refuel America Card is valid at approximately 97% of all gas stations in the US. Click here to find a participating station near you.

It is in lieu of any cash rebates. So instead of 7,500 cash back they are discounting your gas. It also takes 6-8 weeks for the program to start. I think it is a wash or worse than the cash back...

Pretty much. Your getting cheap gas so you can brag to everyone, but don't mention how MUCH your payments are or vehicle cost.

Terry that ole ford have that big of a tank?? Just to add to that note there was a truck on craigslist that had a 200gal aux tank + the stocker!! Imagine filling that up .

Stock was a 30gal. I could only go 250 miles towing so I bought a TFI replacement tank. It has a 46 gal capacity and I can go 420-450 towing or 650-700 empty. There is a guy on the diesel board that is retired and hauls a 5'er from Florida, to Cali, to Canada, to Alaska. He has a 450 dually about 5 tanks.
53 gal TFI midship replacement tank
    200 gal toolbox tank
    2) 60 gal kidney tanks around the fifth wheel hitch
45 gal spare tire location tank underneath

He did it in the old days of when the fuel in the south was cheap and out west and up north it was high. He could go from coast to coast and back on one fill up.
