Back in my day

Gas for the go cart was $0.25, just had to find ~10 returnable bottles laying around the Texaco station to turn into the country store.

Gas for the bug was $0.50, when minimum wage was about $2.30
Gas now is $4.00 with a minimum wage of ~$7.00
The ratio has changed significantly.

except I can remember gas wars and seeing regular at 19.9 cents per gallon.

I took pics of the Loves sign several years. I think the Hurricane Rita/Katrina was the worst.

That's when it went up $.30-$.50 while we were sitting there...some of us paid the cheaper price...the stragglers got stuck paying a lot more...

I kinda long for the days of those prices! :crying:
