    Project Dirty Dog

I sold my White 00 Truck a few months back and have been working on a Project truck ever since. I picked up a black 93 Lightning that needs a lot of work. I picked up the truck from the second owner who has had it for most of it's life. Truck had a tree fall on it while parked in there driveway and did some good damage. Dented up the hood, broke out part of the rear window, put some other dents on the body as well. Truck was very dirty and stunk when I picked it up. The rear tube bumper was shot as you will see in the pictures. But I have done a lot so far since I got it 6 months ago.

    New Battery
    New Alternator
    New Headlight Bulbs
    New Wiper Motor
    New Wiper Blades
    New Battery Tray
    New A/C vents
    New Door sills
Pulled and Cleaned the Carpet(Lots of Broken Glass was found)
Pulled out all the stereo wires they left that were junk
    Fixed the door speakers
    Pulled the Wind Guards off
Pulled off the Rusted out U-HAUL Tow hitch off
Pulled off the Rusted out Tube Bumper
    New Tag lights
    New Solid Rear Window
    Fixed the Tank selector switch
New Ignition Switch and key switch
Cut up the stock Warped Plastic Bed Liner
    Got all new Tires
New Bearings and Seals on the fronts
Painted the Rear end with some high heat black.
    Cleaned the motor
    Oil Change
New Front shocks(need to get the rears on)
    New Plugs and Wires
New Cup holders for the Console
    Fixed Broken wheel stud
New Drivers Side Seat tilt lever
New Hood(Needs hood pin holes fixed.)
    Gen 2 Dome light

I can't think of what else has been done, I'm sure I have forgot a few things. I do have a roll pan here for the truck and a lot of new interior Trim parts to be here on Thursday. With LMC truck just a few mins. up the street, its not that hard to get parts I need that I can't get. I have a lead on another bed that has no rust and is in primer condition. So that will save a lot of time on my end on body work and money as well. Now for some Pictures from when I picked it up till now.

    Nice job Tyson- making progress!

That license plate frame for the rear tube is worth about a $100- there was some one hunting one on NLOC a few weeks back.

That plate frame was being held onto the bumper by two wires. I would of saved it if was still usable. It's hard to see in the picture but it was cracked on the lower right corner.

Got a lot of interior trim parts in today. Only one piece was broke, but may be fixable with a little bit of glue on the back side. If not, I know were one is at I can pick up. Just need to get a few case's of Paint, some sand Paper to start working on these parts.

I always see Lightnings that are shining and new looking. I feel like I am the only guy with one that needs work. Looking at the pics of your '93 I know better now. We are both working towards restoration and Turbo's. We can race to see who will finish first. I think I will have mine done by the fall of 2017...LoL... and if not.. then 2027 for sure.
Hopefully you will not have any detours and you can Get-R-Done.
You have more to do to yours than I do. I can't wait to see your progress.

Yeah, I have all the time in the world to get the truck done. The hard thing about it right now is it's my Daily driver or else I may have it down at my brothers shop already torn down. I should have a nice update in a few weeks if all goes well with getting a whole new bed for the truck and trash the current one that is in bad shape. I to can't wait to see how yours will progress.

Made a trip just a hour down the way to look at a replacement bed. Well It will be primed and ready for me to pick up on Saturday evening. There was no sign of rust anywere. Was three small dents that he is going to have fixed before he shots it with primer. The only reason they fixed the fender wells was there was a small rust bubble come in so the cut it out and repaired it the right way before it started to do any damage.

Thanks, now the search for some better bolts to put it back on with. I would like to use G2 bolts, but not sure if they will work or not. I have the length of the G1's but not the G2 bolts. I may just start looking for the same kind of bolt, but in the length of the G1's if they make them.
