    Looking for a diesel

00 and up Ford or Cheby. What years should I not look at? I know Ford had problems but don't know anything about Cheby. Any input would help. Thanks

I would not buy a 03-04 Ford, all of their 6L's had problems. Chevy had some injector and pump problems on some years of the Duracrud. Search www.thedieselgarage.com for more info. Most old diesels are high mileage and used hard. The Duracrud is prolly the most reliable. You may consider a third party warranty since diesels cost a bloody fortune to repair.

Yep good advice by Terry.... the chevy had injector probs. I think I heard somewhere that GM will replace them with good ones up to 100k miles?? Might check on that b4 you buy tho... also a great point is some kind of warranty, shit aint cheap. I dont know what your budget is, but you can find a few year old diesels w/ low miles for a descent price.

My former '06 F250 with 72k is probably at a dealer in McKinney.

That is where the new truck was purchased from.
