Have you thought about buying her a new gun?I recently bought a Bersa
Thunder .380,Its a good carry gun made in Argentina.Weight is only 20 ounces,it has a 7+1 clip,length is 6 5/8.and its a Semi-automatic.I got
mine at Acadamey sports for about $230.00.It has great reviews on the net.

Two friends of mine have that gun. They had problems jamming at first but after 100 rounds or so it cleared up.
Also just FYI if you didn't know which you probably do but a 357 will also shoot 38's through it good for cheap practicing with the 38's and 357's for Self Defence purposes. just a little tid bit I also have heard good things about the bersa thunders.
