After getting clear corners for my L, I still wasn't happy with the orange bulb in there. I went to an auto parts store and found some that were yellow, but I was really hoping to find something a little cleaner.

I called DPS and they said, without a lot of conviction, that the front bulbs could be clear or amber.

Anyone here have clear turn signal bulbs and has it ever been an issue if you do?

Sylvania makes some nice silverstars.

I tried both stealth and Sylvanias and was happiest with the Sylvania silverstars. They put out a brighter light.

+1

Youll be very happy with these. A little pricey for $20 at autozone but look really good.

I'm starting to think I shouldn't believe what DPS said.

From what I understand it has to light up orange whether the bulb is orange or a mirror like iridescent like the silverstars. I also believe you have to have so many square inches of orange relector, but I don't think they are real strict on that, at least on the front of the vehicle. They tend to be a little more picky about the red reflector for the rear tail lights though.

the bulb has to be either orange or clear for the front turn signals

Silverstars!!!! I use them for my headlights too, last way longer than every other aftermarket bulb I have tried. Well worth the expense.

I saw those at Pep-Boys, but they still looked too orange for me. I think they were $16.00 for a pair, which I understand is pretty reasonable.

I found this link (http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=6848&highlight=silvervision) where I guy took some heat resistant paint and sprayed his original bulbs silver.

It looks like it came out pretty good so I'm going to try it.

Painting my light bulbs..... :hammer:

chalk one up for another L w/Stealthbulbs. Had them for a year now, they are not as bright as the Silverstars, but it's a turn signal...not the headlight. I ditched the Silverstars since they looked purple/pink when the lights are off, add the reflective light housing the bulbs are in and it looked weird, dropped them into the wife's blue mach one, look better there.
