got to the track for the first time w/ slicks. did about 6 passes and during my burnouts my driverside tire was spinning but not as hard as my passenger. on my last pass i noticed it did one revolution and stopped therefore only right side spinning. got home changed back to radials and went to check it out and driver side spun just fine. i do not know too much about the limited slip so any help would be great! thanks -kyle- (btw my mods are x-pipe, air raid, and sct chip best time was 8.665 @ 80.42mph 60' 2.011 need work on r/t but is that ok times for what is done?)

Yeah, the posi's are rebuildable and the more one wheel spins the worse it gets. The best is to have equal traction on each wheel and hit them hard enough with power to break them both loose at the same rate. If one is dry or you slowly roll into them it may not overcome the bias from side to side.

The infamous 1 tire fire. Maybe you didn't get both tires wet. If one tire is wetter than the other then you will only spin one.

so it should still be ok? i did slowly roll into it and dont think that tire was even in the d@mn water after looking at the vid. so just lay into it doing the burnout then and that should not happen?

I make sure i'm all the way in the water box, hold the line lock, spin the tires enough to put water all the way around, pull out of the water box, hold the line lock again, and mash the gas

i also adjust my mirrors so i can watch to see if the hoosiers are spinning :d

The clutches are worn but it will always function to some extent. When it startes one wheeling on the street I would have it rebuilt.

Just to add to what Terry said. When your getting a one wheel burn out...get out of it. Otherwise you will make it worse with each pass. Stab it hard and fast after getting the tires nice and wet. At times, I will only pull forward enough to get right at the edge of the water after wetting the tires. It pizzez off some of the track keepers...but fock em. They get paid to be there...LOL.

By the way...this man just described the exact way to do it right...including the mirror adjustment....:tu: .

Just happens to be a good thread on F150online right now about this:

http://www.f150online.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=192207

From Ford Specs:

Use a torque wrench with the capacity of at least 271 Nm (200 lb-ft) to rotate the axle shaft. Be sure that the transmission is in NEUTRAL, and that one rear wheel is on the floor while the other rear wheel is raised off the floor. The breakaway torque required to start rotation must be at least 27 Nm (20 lb-ft). The initial breakaway torque may be higher than the continuous turning torque.
