I had one of those SS454's in highschool it was the biggest dog ever, damn thing never ran more than a week or so without breaking!!:bs

Why is it that you always see RED Lightnings in the ads? Maybe that is because they are the fastest color.:cool:

Actually being a Chevy guy, I was really disappointed in the SS454, and really enjoy the Gen I Lightning.:d

The 454 has a lot of potential that Chevrolet lets someone else find.

Absolutely! I know some guys who did some work to theirs and they were really fast. Slap some heads and headers on it and hello 100hp easy.

Regan and I had a chipped 454 SS "on borrow" http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif for an afternoon back in HS. We both agreed (then) it was a dog, too.

If you look at the 454 and the 351W, you give away over 100 cubic inches, and there is an old addage ---- there is no substitute for cubic inches!! :nana2
