I got a call today from the North Texas SVTOA director Ford Yeager requesting I post on TALON and get the troops committed and rounded up for the event. It did not take long for our replies to their "interest survey" Email to stack up on the right desk up there! SVTOA said the DFW event is VERY IMPORTANT to Ford and SVT and it needs to happen as planned:tu: I will update the thread as I gain price and event detail. It may be a one day event depending on interest since Mustangs were a large part of last year's event. I think we can have a good bit of direction if we put effort in this event. More later I am a tired MisDirector:rolleyes:

I knew it was a GO when I saw the ad on the back cover of SVT Enthusiast .... Only 4 regional On tracks this year ...

The 800 number on the SVT mag is 866-377-8862

Doug

PS there is a 1999 Lightning ad in the same mag for $30,000 !!!! oNly 1700 miles but come on in this economy you can get a faster 2002 for less...

Yeah, the guy with the low mileage Gen I dropped his price from $17,000 to $16,000 since the last issue. At this rate I'll be able to buy it for $10,000 by next March.

Here's the skinny from SVTOA- I guess you only get the invite if your a member:eek: But it's open for all. My membership with them expires at the end of September- I better pay up before I have to renew again:hammer:

"If you want to drive your vehicle like it was designed to be driven than this is the event for you. Don't miss out on this high performance driving event for performance crazed junkies!

The event is scheduled for September 28 & 29, 2002 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX. Track activities will include a Ground School, Professional Driving Instruction, Autocross, Autocross Relay, Skid Pad, Slalom, Road Coarse, and SVT 2003 Test Drives.

We'll kick off the event with a Meet & Greet at the Residence Inn-Alliance Airport on Friday, September 27th. After Saturday's track activities, we'll be heading to Billy Bob's in the Stockyards for dinner and entertainment.

Prices are $125 (SVTOA Member) and $150 (SVTOA Member Guest) and include all track activities and dinner and entertainment at Billy Bob's.

Invitations and registration forms will be mailed on Thursday, August 29th to all members in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Return your registration form to SVTOA prior to September 13th to receive a Lone Star On Track t-shirt and an SVTOA On Track baseball cap (return the form prior to September 6th and you'll receive a 2002 SVTOA On Track Tour t-shirt)!

Be on the look out for your invitation!!! "

Where or how do you sign up to be a member of SVTOA?

svtoa.com or I'm sure you can pay a little extra the day of the event.
Joining SVTOA does not get you much. All I got out of the 40 or 50 it cost me last year was a subscription to SVT Enthusiast magazine and the track event.

$125 !!

We just got on the oval for $25 tonight. I hope I get to rip the hell out of a '03 Cobra on a test drive for that price!

SCCA Solo II and Equipe Rapide are sponsoring autocross events at TMS the same weekend as On Track. They have been on the calendar all year for the last weekend in September. TMS is going to be a busy place.

OK, I got my On-Track invite. Looks like two full days. Whose all going to this? I'm debating it because all I'm really interested in is the 2003 test drives the hotlaps and possibly the road course. I'm not interested in somebody criticizing my driving, nor am I interested in some guy ragging out my truck, and autocross just is not for me.

Anyway, just curious whose heading out to this.

Those keen eyed individuals will recognize the infamous talon members sitting front and center in one of the pics on the first page... Sixpipes, Mark, myself, Doug, among others...

I think I'll be attending the event and at least making use of the svtoa memberships I have... Besides I'm likely to be the only hoser out there in a Marauder... :)

Logan,

I did take a look at that pic, and that is cool. I am on the far right cracking up at something.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be making it this year.

Have fun!

Yup! That's the one! :)

That guy in the middle is Franz or Hans or somethin' like that. Ask Logan about that guy and his deal on the inside track. Somethin' about smoke or some such...

Hi all. I was there last year and had a blast. The road course was worth the money and the drive (even if I did ruin my front brake rotors). Can someone tell me who I can call or e-mail to see if I can still get in? Doug sent me an e-mail but the link he sent me did not work!

Thanks,
Jerry
