TALON needs to pull together and help put on a good show this fall at the FFW Finals.

We still need to find a big parking lot in Ennis or Waxahachie with accessible 3-6 story building next to it for BIG A$$ group picture of all the lightnings Friday Night on the way to Dinner.

We also need a volunteer with a propane BBQ to volunteer to bring it to the track Friday early for the weekend. We are hoping to help avoid eating track food as much as possible. Jim from JDM has offered to put up tents and have room for folks to eat and congregate in his pits. They typically are very good hosts in the pits

Do you guys have any preference where the Lightning guys pit this year ? I suggested as close to the lanes as possible since all the decent spots are gonna be on hot asphalt.

We also need to start a separate thread of who is planning on going either as racer or spectator.

I will be right next to the track getting some good pictures of all the TOP TRUCK competitors so bring your butt to Ennis for the finals and we'll have a great weekend. Any TALON member who has been to 2 TALON events prior to FFW Ennis and competes in Top Truck will get free 8x10 of their truck from the event...

Pictures of the first six FFW races this year are here

When and where are we suppose to meet on that friday, do we time trial that day or what...My first to FFW with the L. 2nd do we need drive shaft loops ect? 3rd whats the cost? :burnout:

Cost is $60 for Quick Ford or Street Ford bracket classes. Two complete race programs on Saturday and Sunday. Time trials are typically 8AM-10AM on Saturday and Sunday for these classes.

Top Truck is $60 plus a $30 one-time per year FFW membership fee (good until 1/1/03). Time trials on Saturday and single elimination brackets on Sunday. Dial-in is 1/10th less than the best of three time trial runs from Saturday.

Friday night is usually just a regular test and tune.

I'll probably drive down Friday afternoon and may just stay down there the whole weekend. Don't worry about driveshaft loop unless you run full race slicks. There will be plenty of help for the rookies.

I think I'll head down for test and tune. Can I expect a few runs on Friday night, or will most of my time be spent waiting in line?

I just noticed that they have the first round of Top Truck (showdown classes) qualifying scheduled for 4PM on Friday. Guess I'll be taking off Friday afternoon. Gotta do well so I can finish in the Top Ten.

I'm planning on heading down for the whole weekend. Test & Tune on Friday, then either Quick Ford or Street Ford on Sat & Sunday! Yeah! I am hoping to beat my Semi-Final finish from last year.. this year I want the 1st place trophy!

Do I still need to bring my grill down? Or is someone else gonna bring theirs? I don't have any proper grill utensils anymore.. I lost them in the war :flaming:

I can't wait!!!!

Yeah, I found out the guy that owns Hallsville actually still lives in Denton. I am going to try to meet with him this week before we go big with the advertisement. 11/16 with an 11/23 backup is the plan.

I'll bring it down. Someone else will need to bring utensils. :p

The tank is pretty full. I've only used it about twice this year after filling it.

Later!

I think I'm occupying Doug's spare bed, unless I have been displaced by a player to be named later. I'm also bringing a tent and hammock just in case.

Highly unlikely but, If I am still in it by Sat afternoon, I would like to reserve some floor space for Sat night.
