The one we all know about. Had a 44K-mile engine put in along with new clutch, front brakes, struts etc... 75K on the car. I've got at least $5,500 worth of receipts. Black / Asking $8,750 but very negotiable . Great little car, but junior has an SVT Focus coming.

I look forward to being given the keys to the focus and flogging on it... :)

Just outta curiosity, why would anyone buy an SVT Focus or Contour? I mean, couldn't you get better performance from a Mustang? And wouldn't that be cheaper? No disrespect, just wondering.

That's an easy question. Go drive one and you'll understand.

Don't like the name "Focus" put you off, it's a pretty bad ass little rocket.

They pull .91 on the skidpad, handle like a vette, go pretty quick and they're priced less the $18000... Ya can't be the price for the value.

Mustang GT is at least $4K more expensive in deluxe trim, handles like a pig and are a dime a dozen on the streets.

What the Marauder said:tu: Don't look for a big discount I have seen the invioce and there is only 1K mark up on them..

The SVT Contour will kill the Focus from a light. Probably about five years ahead of the market, but a very impressive little car. Junior was tailgating the Mustang GTs at Cresson a couple of years ago at the On Track event. Hell, I'd love to have it for a company car if they would let me substitute it for my lame-a$$ Taurus.

Sixer, I guess we could park it in the
Barn or something:d :d

Maybe just the leftover parts. I may hold on to it long enough to drive it at the On Track or FFW in September.

Payoff is like $7,500.00 or something. Don't make me take this thing to SVT On Track next week and kick everybody's arse in autocross.

Guess now I know why Ford quit selling these things. It's a great car, but nobody knows anything about them. Currently advertising in Auto Trader. :hammer:

Dennis I may have a buyer for you.

What is the bottom line? Payoff?

Sixpipes

I would consider payoff which is now somewhere around $7,300. I am considering taking the car off the market at this point. Thanks for the help.

Dennis,
There is a wholesale guy that buys cars from TIer's on Friday mornings at the expressway site.

I sold him my boat, motorcycle, wife's camaro, and neighbor's truck. I got more than expected everytime and he will negotiate. Let me know it you want to give it a try.

I sold my Nissan truck to that guy a few years back. He gave me a great deal. One of the nice benifits of being a member of TI's credit union back in the day.

Trying to refinance the house and just want to reduce financial obligations. The recent company merger has made it difficult for us sales type guys to make a decent commission check so cash is hard to come by these days. If we can free up a few extra bucks a month, it's going into the stock market instead of an extra car.

That is if I decide to let the little woman drive Go_rila to work every day. (15 miles round trip) Big if. Anyway, may just sell one out of two cars, but haven't really decided.

What kinds of Refi rates you getting quoted ??

The beetle is a better car but the Contour is cheaper to keep? Stock market eh? Last refinance rate I heard was 5.75, I got 6.5% over a year ago..

Sixpipes

Try 5.375% for 15 years. Makes my current 8.25% for 30 look pretty weak. I can actually decrease my monthly payment and pay the house off 15 years sooner.

Mine is 7 7/8 so unless I can get 1.5 points less... It doesnt make sense

The lowest 30 year fixed I could find was 6.3 which barely makes the cut to make it worth it.

I forgot about you owing 7300 on the Contour, but you may owe more on the Beetle. Go_rila seeing daily use, what a sad thought.. I went from 8.25-6.5 or so went from 30 to 15 payment want up about 100 bucks 1040-1160. Supposedly saving 87K in interest. I should own my home by 38-39:banana: As long as I don't get married or something horrible like that.:nono: My 102K dollar home was supposed to cost 300K over 30 years! What a raping!

7.6 here. I have been toying with the refi idea. It's such so much cash upfront. I can't get off the fence. :(
