I went to Speedworks today and Dyno’d my “L”. Was a little disappointed with the results but thought I would see what others were getting for rear wheel results before I get too discouraged.
My 3 runs were as follows:

1) Max Power 362.7 max Tq 450.2 temp 95.9 AFR max 15.0 min11.3 avg 12.3
2) Max Power 363.8 max Tq 452.8 temp97.1 AFR max 14.9 min 11.8 avg 12.7
3) Max Power 364.6 max Tq 450.5 temp 96.6 AFR max14.9 min 11.6 avg 12.7

Is this in line with the current mods to the “99” L
90MM MAF
PSP 4# lower pulley
Denso IT 24’s
PSP chip
PSP high flow Filter kit
Mobil 1 synthetics
30K miles

Just seems kinda on the low side considering that stock “99” was 360HP to Flywheel, subtract 18% and stock was 295 RWHP. With those mods I had hoped to see results closer to 400/500. Am I being over optimistic to expect or hope for more than a 70 horse improvement with the current mods?
Am I overlooking something here?

Well, the ambient temp will hurt you a bit, but my similarly mod'd 99 with 4lb, did 380/480 at speedworks with the temp around 70 degrees...

Your numbers seem a bit low to me, given your mods and taking the temp into account. For reference, either the '99 & '00's were very underrated from the factory, or the L. driveline is extremely efficient. Bone stock, in similar temps, I got 334 RWHP out of my '00, and my numbers were typical of what others were seeing. With my only mods being a chip and filter I've dynoed at 371 RWHP, 450 torque, but that was on a much cooler day (maybe 75 degrees). Since you have a MAF and a 4lb. pulley in addition to the chip & filter, I'd expect a bit more, although 400/500 might be on the high side for a day that hot.

I also believe it is a bit low w/ a 4# even though you have to consider the humity and temp. But I do wonder why you put in such a cold plug like that? IT24's are da** cold for that truck. They will foul out pretty quick on the street. The coldest I have seen is IT22's. I would think the 20's would be sufficient enough. What do you have them gapped at?

Logan had headers on his truck. Moonshine used a totally different dyno. PSP recomends IT24's for 4# and up, IT20's for stock to 2#'s.

Correction. I had JBA shorties which accounted for nothing, and a f***ed up Diablo chip. The truck at it's best was still about 10/15 off where I think it should've been. I put about 15000 miles on my IT20's with the 4 lb'er and it ran real nice...

Not sure what kind of dyno you're on, but Terry's right, that can make a huge difference. My stock numbers were on the dyno at Well's Racing, and I don't know what kind it is. My chip/filter numbers were on a Dynojet.

Last week Andy dyno'ed at LG and said 330 something with lean a/f. He gained 35 rwhp at Speedworks at 365 or so and ran good a/f. Who knows:confused: I know Wells has the shizzle dyno but it costs to run on it. So if you want 30 more horse for 60 bucks find a different dyno:D

My numbers were from the same dyno he was on, at speedworks.

My 01 with about 200 miles on it with a JDM chip and JDM filter pulled 378hp/464tq at speedworks.

I have not dynoed it since I had the #2 put on it and the new JDM programs. I believe that after JDM's two failed reburn attempts at trying to fix my check engine light w/ breather cap has lost me about .10 - .15 in the quarter mile.

Anyways, FYI...

I faxed the second set of results to Sal to get his take on it but havent heard back from him yet.
INHO it is putting out more than either place shows on paper.
Maybe heat, maybe 30K miles, maybe just chitty dyno equipment.
Would be nice to know when someone else is going locally to run and knows where their L is at so I have something to baseline it from.

The 30K miles shouldn't be hurting you any. When mine ran the 371/450 I was at 40K+. I'm at 51K now, and it sure doesn't feel any weaker.

I think I have figured out how Moonshine has a faster truck....he puts moonshine in his tank.(White Lightning moonshine that is.):D

My tank, not the L.'s :d
