I went to the "Cruise Night" in Longview last Thursday and it was awesome! There were over 90+ cars, trucks, etc. that attended and I had a lot of fun. But there was no Lightnings and only one '02 SC Harley truck there representing. I was thinking maybe the group could come down some time and represent the Lightnings. But it is the first Thursday of every month. I guarantee that you will have fun. Here a few pictures of last week. I don't want to take up to much space on this site. You can look in the background and see a lot more.

Here is a good friend of mine with his '90 1/2 ton with a ZZ 502ci/502hp big block.

I was the only one there last week representing the V10 engine class.

I'd have to agree here. I could do this sometime. We could just get the interested parties for a trip some Thursday, although it would mean missing a meeting.

Good idear. What are they doing about July 4th? I think a club road trip would be cool.

Hey, I like Six's idea. Since we need to move the date of the July meeting anyway, why not reschedule to go visit Justin and friends.

I called the Whataburger main office in Longview and the ladies there laughed when I ask them if they were going to have it next month since it will be on the 4th. They said that was a very good question and they have to run that through everyone first and then they will decide. I guess they haven't thought about next months meeting yet.lol They told me to call them back next week and they may know then.

BTW, for a plan "B" the have the "Cruise Night" every second Thursday in Tyler at the Whataburger on South Broadway. The attendence is not as big as Longview (40-75 cars), but it is very interesting and fun. Maybe we can compromise there because of the distance issue, but it is whatever floats your boat. I am scared that everyone will want to skip next months since it is on the 4th.

Will get back to you when I here something about the one in Longview. BTW, I got a count on last weeks "Cruise Night" and there were 137 cars, trucks, rods, etc. there. I underestimated the count. So far April meeting has been the biggest at 200+ cars is what Whataburger says. They quit counting after that.

You have the "toll tag" for such a trip. If I lead I don't think many would keep up :d :burnout:

Oh, I misunderstood what you meant by "lead the charge". There was a time I did that, but the results weren't that great. :(

Yea, I would be more apt for the Tyler thing, if we have to do July, just because I am going to be on the lake on the 4th - supposed to be good fireworks out there. So the next Thursday would be good for me, or the Longview show in August.

Forget Tyler. The owner's a looser. Only vetts, 72 and older cars are allowed. They let a few people in that they know. All the R/T's had to park at walmart. And 80,000 sport trucks rolling 20's and bags could not get in. But his daughter driving a sunfire with neons could park in side. If it yall want to do something like that I would be interested, but not really thrilled about whataburger in tyler.

How bout if we start our own cruise night. Seems our club is getting big enough to consider hosting one. I'm not talking about a show, but just a get together once a month at a designated place. What do you think?

What I meant was the same place. Someplace high profile like Papa's BBQ or something. It's hard for folks to hit a moving target. ;)

I almost stopped in and talked to you the other day 380. But I was running short on time. I talked with Jim the other day and he told me what you ran at the track. Congradulations.
