Garret, Crawford, and Mark #2 got down here about an hour after Doug and I arrived. Also ran into Chris Dehart and his wife at the Hotel so overall, 6 Lightnings from Talon so far. 90+ degrees and 90+% humidity today. Probably the worst conditions I've ever run in. Got the traction bars in and the drive shaft loop was installed at the track. Put my chip in and the truck wouldn't start. Evidently my chip is screwed up so I'll be running without a chip this weekend. Still, under the circumstances, I'm pleased with the three runs I had; 13.73, 13.68, and 13.69 all on street tires.

I don't think Crawford, Garret, or Doug are going to race. I think Mark #1, Chris, and I are all running in Top Truck. More updates to come.

I beat a 65 Mustang with slicks and loud exhaust in my first run. It was really cool because he got out on me, but I caught him mid track and beat him by about three lengths at the big end.

Having a good time. I think Crawford, Garret, Justin and Jayson went partying. The pootietangers are going to bed.

Hey Six, sorry to hear about your chip. Give,em hell and I will keep updated from your posts. Remember the pulley thing we talked about! The news from the west coast of Florida is that Yesterday was our first Tarpon day and we caught a real stupid little snapper whiffer of about 80 lbs! He reminded me of Justin a little bit. You know, young and willing!

OK Guys, what are you doing down there? I know your routine! You crawl back to the room, Six posts his daily what happened to who, Doug goes through all His Talent pictures and shares them with others etc. So....this morning, nothing! I will bet it is Justins fault!

I just got in to Austin from FFW Houston.

Running on the stock program (no chip) Go_rila qualified at a 13.57 which meant the dial for today was 13.47. Wasn't sure I could run that so HIHOAG and I took off the spare, tailgate and Snug Lid. I cut a .524 light in the first round and when the 2000 Lightning I was running red lighted (fortunate for me), I held it to the floor to see what he would do. 13.38 so luckily my break-out didn't cost me.

Advanced to the second round against an extended cab F-150. Cut a .504 light (too close for comfort) and drove around him at the 1000 foot mark. Eased to the finish line at 82 mph and still ran a 13.57. I'm thinking I'm in big trouble here cause the 1000 ft times were getting faster and faster.

Advanced to the third round against John Makeska's 1965, 460 powered monster (#3 qualifier). Cut a crappy light (low .700), but still only gave up about .04 to John. I beat him to the line and hit the brakes at the very end and broke out with a 13.21. On the brakes for peat sake. No chip. John ran an 11.20 on a 11.18 dial.

Mark did a great job and got throught the first round, but broke out in the second round after being pushed to the line by the #1 qualifying truck.

Mark, if it makes you feel better, the guy that put you out and the guy that put me out advanced to the finals, but I left Houston before they ran.

I'm seriously thinking about dumping the chip and just running Go_rila with the stock CUX-1 computer. The weather was getting a little cooler as the day went on, but not that much. Had a great time. More later.

Flats Man - Jim Alexander ran in Top Truck and won his first round match :tu: before red lighting in the second.

Wow Six, sounds like you had a good FFW! It does seem like Go_rila spit out the chip for a reason....He doesn't like it! Hey Doug, I figured you guys were tired, I was just pulling your chain. Thanks for the update!

The red truck above is the one that put me out by 0.0066 seconds on a double break out.

I had a blast. I was not going to run because I am back to stock. Dennis talked me into it, and thanks Dennis for helping me with driving tips and clues all weekend.

I beat Paul Gamino in the first round with a .564 light. I had 3 lights in the .500s, a .613, and a .356 in the last round of qualifying for a learning experience.

I would highly recommend Top Truck and Fun Ford Weekend's for any of you that have not participated. This was my first one and I'm sure that I will attend again.

I had a blast too. I'll upload some pics when I get my DSL connection going again.

Didn't run on Saturday, but ran on Friday for a disappointing 13.7@101. Air was so humid you could cut it with a knife.

Those of us who didn't run on Saturday took turns guarding Justin's beer cooler. Didn't do too good a job as not many were left at the end of the day!

Had a great time, can't wait for Fun Ford Ennis!

I would like to say that Sam set a new record......all I can say that it was 4 times within a 24 hour peroid.:D

Sam and Garet are some beer drinking SOB's. I quit drinking last year and am steadily getting back into the sport. I hung in there for a while, but them 2 drank til 4 in the morning on Fri. and Sat. night. It might have been the early start I got. There was someone else that could drink, but I don't know if he wants to be mentioned.....;)

What I am trying to figure out is who else was drinking the Keystone besides me? I put a 30 pack in the cooler and came home with 4. I know I didn't drink over a case of beer, not including the beer at the little bar next to the hotel and the pool hall.

I know I had at least one on accident. :D Hope that Coors Light at least partially helps make up for the loss!
