:crying: This is day five that Bankston has had my truck! I took it in for a clunk in the front end. David said they are waiting on a control arm. I guess they are keeping it over the weekend. How long does it take to ship a part? Is that a special order part? I was going to the lake this weekend but Can I pull a boat trailer with a rent truck?

Just take your tow ball with you. :tu: Yes the L has special lower control arms for better handling.

I got my L back tuesday with the same problem I took it in for. The clunk in the front end and the brake pedal that kicks @ times. I'm not mad at Bankston they tried (even know I have four scratched wheels and a dent in the door that I can't prove they did). Now Town East Ford is the new home away from home for my L. In the mean time Hertz has furnished me a fine Mazda 626.:flaming:

Can anyone tell me if there Truck has a single kick sometimes even a clunk when the truck has came to almost a complete stop? This is on a normal stop! They said there is nothing wrong with my truck. Town East said that SVT's have dual stage ABS. Is this true if so why did Bankston not say anything about that? I've drove alot of cars w/ ABS and never had one do this. :hammer:

Sounds like an ABS issue to me. My father-in-law's Lincoln did the same thing and it drove me crazy. Didn't happen all the time so it was hard for the dealer to catch, but they finally caught it.

Man, sorry to hear about your Bankston experience. :(

I notice mine kick often especially when lightly stopping and applying some turn in. I don't mind it and have not chased it down. The dealer put blus lift post paint on one of my wheels and still denied it. I told them fire lanes are red, curbs are gray, and their lifts are BLUE! Oh well:rolleyes:

Crap......... was under the hood this evening and it looks as though I have the passenger side oil leck as well. :flaming:

Will be taking it to Town East Ford tomorrow or Monday.

Todd, how did you do over there at TE Ford?

middlekauf ford had mine for 3 1/2 weeks because of a spun main bearing. It took them three weeks to take it apart ( i know they had to diagnose it piece by piece) and three days to put it back together. Hertz likes you better than they liked me, because I had a Ford Escort. :vomit:

I am talking about the ABS chattering the pedal not the lower control arm clunk.

I've driven 3 2000 L's and they have all had the low speed ABS chatter. It is especially noticable with some steering input just before coming to a complete stop.

Town East told me the this is all normal. The low speed chatter is part of a dual stage abs that only our trucks have? I don't like it!:flaming: I don't think someone at Ford or SVT sat down and decided that the L's abs would ingage the back abs at low speeds and the front at hard stops:bs I also have a big clunk at times during low speed stops which is different than the chatter. My front end clunk has done nothing but got worse. When going over speed bumps or turning out of parking lots. It's bad when I'm turning out of a parking lot and I'm going up hill. Town east greased the stering stops. Bankston replaced the control arm and that clunk bolt. And I still have a problem.:hammer:
