I finally got to hit the track this weekend at Denton. This was my first time to ever race, ever. And my truck just got back from the dealer for the blown plug so it was still 100% stock. I already know everyone is going to laugh their balls off when they see how bad these suck, but please excuse my slowness, I have to start somewhere.
1st pass
Reac= 2.773 (I must have fallen asleep)
I1 = 2.085
I2 = 5.890
ET = 9.009
Mph =79.201

2nd pass
Reac= 1.140
I1 = 2.142
I2 = 6.018
ET = 9.195
Mph =77.883

3rd pass
Reac= 1.648
I1 = 2.193
I2 = 6.82
ET = 9.230
Mph =78.560

4th pass
Reac= 1.120
I1 = 2.172
I2 = 6.063
ET = 9.239
Mph =78.046

Im not 100% sure what all some of that means, but I would appreciate some POSITIVE imput from you guys about what I should change in my racing style. I had a blast, and you can count on seeing me again at the next one. Thanks a lot guys, it was great!:nana2

You need better 60 foot times.. Good ETs in these trucks are all about the launch ... Practice practice practice

Since the picture you attached was already on the server I deleted the attachment and used the img button to point to the copy already on the server. No sense having 2 copies of the same picture on the server.

Good thinkin, I was just glad someone got a pic, my camera dosent exist, and I really wanted at least one shot. Is the I2 the sixty foot time? My girlfriend bought me traction bars for V-day, so those will be helping a little. Yeah, I cant launch for crap. Its way too hard in such a high hp truck with such little traction. Too much, its all spin, too little, its too slow. I think I spun most of the way down, I couldent hear it though(thanks to mr. openheaders next to me). I will get some more practice in soon.:tu:

I1 = 2.193 is your 60 foot ...

To run good numbers it has to be below 2 seconds... 2 tenths in 60 foot can easily be 4 tenths in the 1/4 mile..

On a good run with slicks I pull 1.7x 60 foots....

Just keep practicing

it was nice meeting you , and don't be discouraged like doug says it takes practice and a good set of tires . i've seen alot of guys come out the first time and couldn't run that fast in their lightnings . you did good for the first time .

i ran times similar to that when i first took it to the track. it does take practice. i think my best run the first time i went out was 8.818@80.27, and that was after 8 passes that night. but i put some 16x10 welds on with 255-50-16 drag radials and went a personal best of 8.501@82.xx with nothing else.

I'll echo Doug's suggestion to practice, practice, practice. If you're launching on street tires it's also a test of patience, since you have to feed the throttle in so gently and slowly.

If you're using one foot for both brake and throttle you might want to try two footing it. When you see the third yellow light on the tree light up come off the brake with the left foot while simultaneously easing into the throttle with the right foot.

Don't sweat your results, my first pass was a 14.1 @ 97.
