Hey guys, I have a highly modified PTS turbo kit with a Precision T-78. The turbo and piping have about 2500 miles-3000 tops on it. I miss the blower whine already. LOL.

It's still installed on my truck so you can come see it before we swap. I'll do a clean swap and we can help each-other out by doing the installs ourselves.

Feel free to call me at 214-208-1505. Thanks. :tu:

I have a KB 2.3 with about 2k miles on it with a JLP sheet metal intake and a stock plenum, JLP thunderpipe, 6lb & 8lb lowers, and a 2.5 and 2.7 upper pullies, Motoblue idler bracket with metco 90mm and 100mm idlers, Kooks long tubes, and flowmaster 3" exhaust with turn downs etc. etc. if interested. It makes 583hp and 633tq on my setup at 18psi and 93 octane. I am in the Houston area, but I could do some traveling for the right turbo kit :tu:. If you are interested I would like to see some pics of yours if possible. 979-709-2508.

that setup isnt going to make 583@18psi on a stock heads and block I was thinking the same thing :icon_eek: Is it a stock block?

that setup isnt going to make 583@18psi on a stock heads and block

It is easily possible to produce >22 psi with the pulleys he has listed, so the 18 psi is very believable.

My KB stock block at 18psi ~500, so the 583 does sound high to me too.

Maybe I should get this turbo?
I would also like pictures please.

Thanks for the intelligent response.:tu:
Nice numbers, why not just up the boost a little on that motor and be very happy?

Oh I am going to, I just didn't have enough injector with the 55's. I have a fresh set of matched 60's ready to go now though knana.

I just love turbo setups. My last mustang was a 306 with twin T3's, and my current mustang has a 387 cid stroker with a Majestic hybrid 81mm setup. The L, like everything I have is for sale....but I am upgrading the truck on a weekly basis. If it ever gets were I want it it probably won't be for sale anymore.

Hey Shelby... tried to call you after I got off work. Here are a few pics of most of the parts. I don't have any pics of it installed but I will try and take some if I get a chance tomorrow.

The fuel pumps dont go with it... They are just Walbros anyways.

Nice pics, those number would probably be lower SAE corrected. STD is usually high in my experience.

Sounds good.

Terry, the truck weighed in at just over 4750 (on Bogarts, the fat rascal) with driver at Ennis, and ran an 11.58 @ 118. How much power would it take to run that time?

Right around 500hp depending on the 60ft. STD is a high number, some shops use it to shine customers. My vette showed 486 STD and 453 SAE.

500? Really? It's 4750lbs, not 3750. Best 60' I could get was a 1.68. 7.37 @ 94 in the 1/8th. Every calculator I have been able to find shows 600hp, actually average hp and peak hp both show around 605 based on weight, ET, and trap speed, but whatever, it doesn't really matter, it is what it is. Maybe all of the calculators use STD. It was tuned and dyno'd at PSI, and Patrick says his dyno actually reads a little low compared to others around town.

OK, new claim, I may have the fastest 500hp full weight L in south texas knana :icon_mrgreen:

The torque throws off the calculators, they are keyed towards NA cars anyway. The calculators are way off on the diesels 8000lbs, 420hp 750lb ft 13.80 @104.

Look on the 1/4 mile times list, you are almost identical to Mark2 his best is 11.59 @119 1.676'60ft basically identical he makes about 500hp on a stock block.

486/453 = 6.8% less
583 - 6.8% = 543+, it's not a TT5 truck, but it's still not a punk, from what I know. (I'm not an expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one time)

Back to the topic.............(didn't mean to run rabbits and hijack the thread)

Isn't this post about a turbo kit :)

Sorry to those who are interested, I'm going to put this on hold for a little while. Until after the holidays at least. Too much going on so I wont be able to find the time for the swap until after new years anyways. Thanks guys!

No problem, my main belt tensioner broke and I was waiting to know whether to pull it the rest of the way apart or put it back together. I know which way to go now :tu:. Keep my # if you decide to do it after the holidays.
