Just got a dog and now looking for a good obedience school that is a reasonable price. I have been off here a while due to moving into a house and having a heck of a time getting internet hooked up. Anymays he looks to be full blood Lab I don't notice anything else in him. He might be 2 but I think he is younger and the f***er finds cat crap in the yard and rolls in it and eats it. He also has some wicked gas but might be from him surgery and can't go to the bathroom well.

i think petsmart holds classes, might even be free, that teach you how to teach obedience to your pet, other than that just spend alot of time with them and they will pick up on anything you want them to learn:tu:

I have had several Labs over the years and they are very trainable and really good all around dogs.

Pet smart, mans best friend or become an internet expert :D a lot of good info can be found on training and it just takes effort and time. It is rewarding to have a well behaved dog

Took my shepard to Man's Best Friend. She/they did real well. I'd recomend them.

+1

the gas may be due to a change in its diet too.. stabilize it with some good dry dog food and see if that does cure the issue..

Don't feel bad my brothers dog aka Turd Burglar eats cat crap all the time, and when he ask the vet why she does that he said because she likes it.:rll:

There are cats all over my street and crap in my yard. He sniffs it out eats and rolls in it. Guess I gotta get a live trap and catch me some cats. He chased one this morn but once he got it he licked it instaed of what he should do. (kill it)

I would recommend Mark Minnerly at the Dallas Dog Trainer http://www.dallasdogtrainer.com/ . His basic obedience program is 10 days and 500 bucks. You leave the dog there and pop in regularly for training yourself. Training the owner is the hardest part. It may have changed from when I used him a decade ago. He has competent staff and they offer some serious training. They worked a miracle with my shepherd. He kept eating puppies, cats, full grown dogs etc... In three days they were walking him through the kennel off the leash and had dogs jumping all over him. He did absolutely nothing to them! The instructor was a girl none the less, Mark refused to deal with him since he was so aggressive.

Nothing to do with the dog, looks like a nice pooch....but does anyone else find it ironic that you work for SBC/AT&T and have trouble getting your internet connection going ????

it was my fault kinda. i made an order to have dsl and phone line not knowing that you could run dry loop dsl. i called back in to get that instead and it set it back another week from the previous week or so. plus the wiring in this house is quad and very old so i gotta rewire all of it and put in a smart panel.
