Selling the stall out of my Truck. Its the torque converter that comes with the Monster box. Its rated at a 2800 stall with triple disc lockup and claims to be able to handle anything you can throw at it.

I'm selling because it's too much stall for what I want to use the truck for. I only race occasionally and would rather be set up more for street driving and towing. I'll be swapping it out hopefully next weekend so serious buyers are welcome to take it for test drive if they want to know how it would feel.

This Torque Converter has been in the truck for almost 8K miles of mostly everyday driving with no issues.

This was almost a $1000 part new:

$300

Ya know.... We both owe Steve a beer or 2. We have bought from each other and never meet. Steve has delivered both times.
And I need the info on your trans shop... Mine wants $450.00 just to swap the converter.

Sh!t, that's cheaper than the prices I managed to get a few years ago. They all kept telling me that it was basicly the same as a transmission replacement job. I think Terry only charged about 250 bucks, but we all see where that kind of pricing got him:icon_eek:.

I think this is the place I called. They just rebuilt my neighbors transmission in his F250 Diesel.

I don't think Terry would want to do it in my little garage. No lift. No wiggle room.

I'm most likely going to do it myself. God I hate working on stuff in my garage.

I have never been brave enough to attempt pulling out a transmission, but I would think that having a lift would be a must. A feller who works for me rebuilt his transmission a couple years ago and he talks about how he did it with his truck on jack stands. He says he won't be trying that stunt again. It didn't go real well for him:rll:.

The problem is the damn Lightning tranny is HUGE and a little over 300 lbs. Most half ton transmissions are half that size and much easier to handle. Good luck with it.

I bought one of these for a little assistance. I am very impressed for the price.

Also bought nice creeper and a pair of 6 ton jack stands that set the truck up higher. It only cost me around $400 to do it myself, what a deal...:D

The only really tough parts were the top starter bolt without taking out the long tubes, and one of the bolts for the heat shields.
