Well I had to run out to Louisiana yesterday to look at some sites we had completed and some new projects.

I was south bound on 49 and the officer north bound the V1 had been going off all morning so I knew that the radar guns in La. were switched to "Generate Revenue"

Let me say first and foremost I WAS SPEEDING now let me rant :flaming:

Officer did the dukes of hazzard turn and ran me down the V1 never went off so I was curious and sure enough got pulled over.

"sir I got you @ 90 in a seventy" Actually I was going faster but hey who's counting I polite fully asked how he determined speed and he responded by radar I asked which kind he responded genesis 2 I asked if he had shot cars in front of me prior and he responded yes HMMMMM...

Actually he and I were laughing and joking the whole time I told him it was odd that the radar did not go off and I was surprised that he got me with no reading on the V1

Bottom line he did not radar me and could tell I was speeding based on relation to other traffic. Two things happened that were different from any other time I have ever been pulled over

1. the officer never called in my License wrote the ticket and sent me along

2. When pressed about the radar and rather he actually shot me he had nervous laugh and became noticeably anxious

I was speeding guilty as charged but why not just tell me instead of bullchitting the deal

The officer was doing his job. I was polite and he also he reduced the speed for me. Both of us left chuckling and wished each other a good day

It surely is possible the V1 did not do it's job but it had been doing it all morning and continued to do so all the way home.

I was not doing 90 I was late for a meeting and had the diesel hauling A$$ probably 95

sorry for the long rant I am not mad about getting the ticket hell I was speeding that's the risk associated with going fast. On some level I would hope that law enforcement would not do this but hey it is La.

I got pulled over outside Amarillo I was going 120 after some big trucks rock cracked my windshield, but the DPS trooper was really nice and I was really pissed. he just gave me a warning. It says >70 on it. That ticket would have SUCKED.

Driving down 49 or anywhere in La is like flying an A6 Intruder through SAM city in Nam..

Dam, was it a long walk home:eek2:

There was one point were I had to ask my friend that was with me(the one doing the video) if he would follow us to the police station in my truck, but to make a long story short he ended up allowing my to go straight home:D

Yah, I know that stretch, "Revenuer Alley"? :rll:

And you hit the nail on the head: he "visualized" you; unless you have an older-model non-pop V1, and even then, had he hit you with pop without a followup Ka reading, he'd've still been way off.

When I drove that stretch to go down for my FEMA gig, I ended up doing 75 or so because of all the radar traffic I was picking up. And when I was working out of Lafayette, it wasn't quite as bad, but it would get worse towards the weekends.

And yer lucky he didn't drag you into the swamp and feed ya to the 'gators. :tex
