Stopped by the beer store, I know big surprise.

Older ~70ish man that can hardly walk comes in and shouts
"Who owns that Lightning out there?"

Speaks loudly to the whole store

"You know that's the fastest thing on the street,
Faster than a vette, a porch, anything."

Guy about my age ahead of me in line, "Dad what are doing out of the truck, you aren't supposed to be walking around."

"Man I never saw one of those trucks, that is the one I was telling you about on that TV show that beat a porch, it's got a supercharger on it."

Well, took about 20 minutes showing him and everyone else in the store my truck, my department manager even showed up.

Older guy: "What does that button do?"

Gave him a little line-lock demo.

Apparently, made his day and mine too.:D

Rarely do you find anyone in the general public that knows anything about a L, it was kind of cool.

Older guy says to son, "You got to get me one of these"

:tu: This is going to sound like a :ron: but that's one of the reasons I do what I do. Several of my patients are WW2 vets and I could sit and listen to them for hours.

Glad you appreciated my little story.
I said he was "older", not "old", it was fun.

Good story reminds me of an old man in town that drives an L. By old I mean hearing aids and all. And his favorite thing to do is "show them the ass end specially them dodges" He cracks me up but thats what I want to be like when im old.

What do you do? reason I'm asking I go to VA Dallas Tue & Thur and last Tue I saw a DSG parked on the back side across(near) the Spinal Cord lot. Yours?
But yeah, you're right about the old Vets, I'm still a young vet so to speak and really don't talk about my Desert Storm experience unless someone ask. But hope I live long enough to be 75 and have the "way back when" stories. I'm getting practice on my 12 year old grandson now with life in the 70's & 80 because he thinks the world just started turning and all his world is something new.
