Stock Transmission w/ 9000 miles - Worth??

Terry or anyone who might know....

I have a buddy who has a stock 4R100 with stock converter. Tranny came off of a totalled Lightning and was a total drivetrain removal. Motor has already been sold. From the info I have, no mods on the motor or tranny.

What do you think this is worth, and does anyone know what the Ford dealer would charge for a new one? He gave me a price, but I wanted to confirm reasonable costs before I started posting the price for him....

Some year models are better than others, some early 01 (believe it is J code) are failure prone to sprag failures. Last I heard cores were worth ~$750 due to upgraded content in L tranny.

If it is a 5X it is more valuable, J1 is known as the Junk1 due to the mechanical intermediate diode. It fails when power is increased and they subsequently went back to the old design. Some of the older trannys are 1S 1F. Jasper sells the MonsterBox with a 24K warranty for 2650 I believe. Used trannys are 400-1500 depending on age, mileage, fluid smell etc..
