Hood Scoop

Saw this on F150online Website and the owner says the scoop is a bolt-on from a 2000 Mustang. Can't get him to tell me if it's functional! Saw one at my local ford dealer today and looks like it will work just fine. I think it's a cool mod and has nice smooth lines when mounted on the L.

Has anyone performed this mod?

Can it be made functional by cutting out the rear square inset in the stock hood?

if you cut a hole in the hood under it and dont rig some kind of scoup to put the air to the filter all you will get is a dirty arse engine bay

Also if you just cut a hole in the hood under the scoop you can get rain water, leaves, and other kinds of debris into your engine compartment. You would need to rig some sort of catch for whatever may find its way into the scoop.
